Not My Wife’s Cooking was born in the fall of 2018, when my husband Joey decided he wasn’t going back to corporate life. He chose to follow his passion for food—a journey that began in his young adulthood and included time at culinary school, eventually bringing him back to his roots. I came up with the name—funny, bold, and unforgettable, just like our food.

Our specialty is hand-pressed empanadas, crafted by Joey, a Bronx-born-and-raised Puerto Rican with deep roots in home cooking. Each empanada is generously filled from edge to edge, delivering bold, comforting flavors in every bite.
